Joe Dassin's autograph [le dimanche américain]

"J'en ai mis du temps
Pour me dire que c'était rien
C'était rien qu'un dimanche américain..."

"Le Dimanche Américain" is the title of the song Joe Dassin has never had time to sing... Nevertheless it was the song he liked a lot and it would have become a smashing hit if not for Joe's unexpected and untimely death...

"Le Dimanche Américain" is the name of this little fansite dedicated to Joe, my humble attempt to reunite all the information available about Joe's career and his life.

There is no more doubt that Joe Dassin was (and still is!) one of the most talented French singers, whose strive for perfection gave us such superb titles as "L'été indien", "Les Champs-Élysées", "L'Amérique", "Salut les amoureux", "Et si tu n'existais pas", "Le jardin du Luxembourg", "The Guitar Don't Lie", and many many others... And though Joe himself did not believe in life after death, his posthumous career proves contrary. I will not name dozens of vinyl compilations appeared after his death, as well as CD compilations and Integrals - you could take a look over it all if you visit DISCOGRAPHY section of this site.
