[le dimanche américain]|
Joe Dassin lived in Italia for some time, so no wonder one of the languages he spoke fluently was Italian. This is probably the reason why his Italian songs sound so natural... Nevertheless Joe's "Italian" repertoire has never exceeded a dozen of covers of his own songs and, as far as I know, he didn't record any Italian originals.
The most complete Integral 30 ans de la carrière includes only five songs in Italian, though in his book about Joe (Cher Joe Dassin) Jacques Plait mentioned some other rarities such as Italian versions of L'Amérique and La fleur aux dents. Except for these two titles, the Integral booklet contains information on Italian version of Little Italy but there is still no trace of these tapes.
